Freeway CT03 and R3.0 folding bicycles affected

Merida issues folder recall

Merida has issued a voluntary recall of the first generation Freeway CT03 and R3.0 folding bicycles.

A patented safety folding button is said to be the cause of the recall, which effects bikes made between June and July 2008, according to Taiwan News.

The button is reportedly easily damaged when force is applied during unlocking. Merida has made contact with the majority of end-users who handed over contact information during the sale.
