Moore Large has extended its warehouse's working hours, and from May 1st, all bike or accessory orders processed before 4.30 pm will be dispatched the same day, regardless of whether placed online or by phone.
Orders made during the new summer working hours will be shipped on a next day service, meaning mainland UK retailers will get their orders the following working day.
As usual, next day delivery excludes Ireland, Islands and Highlands of Scotland, Channel Islands, Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man. However, customers from these areas who place their orders late in the day will still get their orders a lot quicker due to this enhanced service. Dealers can track the real-time status of their consignment via the link in their order dispatch email.
Moore Large operations manager Timothy Hodgson said: "We know that as well as being able to inform customers of where their order is, that speed of delivery is also critical. Moore Large wants to lead the pace of change to make delivery as convenient as possible for its dealers, which is incremental to the improvement of its warehouse facilities and processes. The large online retailers are offering delivery service developments at an unrelenting pace, and as a distribution company we can take some inspiration from their achievements."
The news follows previous delivery enhancements which saw the distributor offer same day dispatch on orders placed before 4pm via its newly launched B2B platform, plus the offer to combine orders for bicycles and accessories to meet the £150 carriage threshold for free delivery.
Historically only orders processed before 2pm were eligible for next day delivery and separate carriage charges applied to both bike and accessory orders placed at the same time.
For UK mainland and Isle of Wight, orders with a goods value of £150 or more – ex VAT – the carriage will still be free of charge, and for Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands the combined carriage threshold is £200. For Euro accounts, the equivalent values will apply calculated on Moore Large’s exchange rate of the day.
