29-inch and 27.5+ wheel size compatibility, Boost 148mm rear spacing & new Swinger II dropouts

Pivot launches new LES hardtail at Sea Otter

Pivot Cycle has launched its new LES hardtail at the Sea Otter Classic.

The price will remain the same in the UK – SRP £1600.00 for the frame only (outgoing LES 29" frames are now £1500).

Distributor Upgrade Bikes will be offering frame only with any build kit options only as special order from US specs.

Key features of the new LES hardtail include:

  • 29” or 27.5+ wheel size compatibility (up to 2.8" rear tyre on 27.5)
  • Boost 148mm rear spacing for responsiveness and handling precision.
  • New Swinger II dropouts, offering adjustability between single speed or geared set ups as standard on the frame, no swapping of drop outs.
  • Full length internal cable routing and internal Shimano Di2 integration via Pivot’s exclusive, easy-to-maintain Cable Port System

“The new LES is a very clean design,” said Pivot Cycles President and CEO Chris Cocalis. “The frame features proprietary component integration, is lighter and we’ve increased stiffness in key areas. Our carbon design is incredibly specific, maximizing our racers’ power output and efficiency, while reducing terrain-induced fatigue over the course of long event.”

These bikes are proving to be lightweight, we’re told. For 2016 the LES has dropped under 50 grams, with complete geared bikes available under 20lbs.

The new LES does not influence the LES 27.5” which will remain unchanged through calendar year 2017.
