Distribution changes will get started in April

Trek goes dealer direct in Poland

From April 2012 Trek Bicycle will begin shifting its bike business to a ‘dealer direct’ distribution model in Poland.

Working with distribution partner SSC, Trek said the transition, should take around four months to complete. During the transition period, Polish Trek retailers will be able to purchase product directly from Trek or SSC according to availability.

From July 1st 2012 SSC will end their distribution of Trek and Bontrager products in order to focus on their retail business.

“Trek and SSC have cooperated for over ten successful years,” commented SSC managing director Marek Pstrusiński. “The fact that in the future Trek will take care of distribution is the natural step for both Trek and SSC.”

Malcolm Davies, Trek’s european director, added: “Trek will begin offering a full range of products and directly servicing customers in Poland in April 2012 supported by local sales people and our global infrastructure.

"We will build on the solid foundation that SSC has provided to continue developing the Trek brand in Poland and by July 2012 our intention is to add the wide range of dealer services that our customers in Europe typically enjoy.”
