Deal signed for UK an Ireland distribution

Zyro adds Bopworx to portfolio

Zyro has signed a distribution deal with Bopworx – a label dedicated to the protection of vulnerable parts of a bike during transit.

The product range will be launched at Zyro’s annual Cycle Vision show in October and product will then hit stores in 2016.

Created by cycle tourists Paul and Ciara McGriskin, Bopworx’ product creates a barrier between bikes and vechiles/other bikes in transit.

“We found that no matter how we secured the bikes to the bike racks, inevitably, the bikes would damage either our car or cause damage to each other in transit. We looked in vain again for a solution that we could purchase to resolve this matter but there was and still is nothing on the market that is capable of resolving this problem,” remarked Paul McGriskin.

“Our research demonstrated time and time again, that bicycles cause damage to the inside and/or outside of their transit vehicles and to other adjoining bicycles during transit,” added Paul.

Bopworx will hit the market with 4 key models, with more to follow shortly after. These are:

  1. Bike Bumper – The original! Our universal solution to protect your bike. The principle of the Bike Bumper is to create space between a bicycle frame and another object from impacting on each other during transportation and storage. Single-sided bumper mounts anywhere on the bicycle to create the space required to protect the bicycle frame and another object from impacting on each other.
  2. Double Bumper – The ideal solution for travelling with multiple bikes. The Double Bumper has two faces and rotates in the middle, allowing you to align each side at any angle. Double-sided rotating bumper mounts anywhere between two bicycles to prevent them from damaging each other during transport.
  3. Fork Guard – Universal fit – Protect your fork dropouts, blades and vehicle interior all in one. Designed to protect your bicycle’s forks from damage when travelling with your bike in a car, a bike case or simply storage. The wheels roll for ease of loading into your vehicle and also allows the bike to stand stable on the ground. It also features a detachable caliper spacer which keeps your pistons from closing if you have disc brakes.
  4. Rear Derailleur Guard – Detachable Rear Derailleur Guard is designed to protect the rear derailleur and derailleur hanger. Made of a very tough plastic, it will protect your bike from strong front and side impacts. Using the Rear Derailleur Guard in a bike case or box is easy as well. When the wheel is not in the frame simply use a chain-tensioning quick release or spacer and the Guard will stay in place.
