Zyro is doing its bit for charity by donating Cateye and Camelbak products to the forthcoming BT Red Nose climb, BikeBiz can exclusively reveal.

The event, which will raise money for Comic Relief, will see a range of celebrities climb 19,340 foot high Mount Kilimanjaro.

The host of celebrity climbers will benefit from Zyro-supplied Cateye Tora head torches, Camelbak Unbottle 3.0 litre systems and blue and pink 750 ml CamelBak Better Bottles.

Alesha Dixon, Ben Shephard, Cheryl Cole, Chris Moyles, Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton, Gary Barlow, Kimberley Walsh and Ronan Keating are the celebrities that will sport the gear as they undertake the climb of a lifetime.

Each gruelling moment of the eight-day trek will be captured for a documentary, which will be broadcast in the run up to Red Nose Day on Friday March 13th.

"Zyro are absolutely delighted to be supporting this event,” enthused Zyro marketing manager Jane Watson. “We happily donated this vital kit to all the guys, including the support team.

“Being fully hydrated and being able to see in the dark, I think you'll agree, are going to be essential. We wish them all success as Comic Relief is a fantastic cause."

The team’s efforts will help money to help change lives across Africa and the UK. In particular, the celebrities will explore how they can help tackle malaria – a disease which kills a child every 30 seconds across Africa. In Tanzania, where Kilimanjaro is situated, malaria is the leading killer of children.
