Jeff Lockwood of grit.cx will begin work at Ritchey International on February 1st as marketing manager. He will be based in Antwerp, Belgium.
Lockwood will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, branding and communications for Ritchey International. With more than 20 years of experience in the bicycle industry, he started his career with Dirt Rag mountain bike magazine in the US, where he was responsible for building its online business. Most recently, he was editor of grit.cx, a cyclocross and gravel bike magazine based in the UK.
"I’ve always been a fan of Ritchey products and its strong heritage. I’m extremely excited to join the Ritchey team, and I’m absolutely honoured to work with the legendary Tom Ritchey. I’m really looking forward to sharing the story of Ritchey and helping the company reach new heights," says Lockwood.
In addition to his editorial experience, Lockwood has deep roots in the marketing side of the bicycle business. He managed his own marketing and web design firm, and served as marketing director for Pivot Cycles and BH Bikes USA. More recently, he’s provided marketing consultation for various companies and organisations in the bicycle industry and managed global social media efforts for the Bontrager brand.
