Velo Vision gets a spin off consumer quarterly magazine, Electric Bike, announces editor/publisher Peter Eland.

Eland to launch free e-bike mag

Eland said: "Electric Bike will be the first full consumer magazine worldwide, to the best of our knowledge, dedicated to the fast-growing market in electric-assisted cycles."

The first issue will be out in August 2010. Velo Vision has been published by Eland for ten years and has long covered electric bike topics.

"Requests from electric bike industry figures for more e- bike coverage convinced us that the time is right to launch a dedicated publication for this growing sector of the market," said Eland.

Electric Bike will operate on the free distribution model. 2500 copies will be distributed free to consumers via participating dealers, advertisers, and special needs cycling organisations. The 2500+ subscribers to Velo Vision magazine will also be mailed copies.

The full magazine will also be available online. The electric version will be clicky-flicky via Issuu.com and there will also be a premium Exact Editions version.

Eland said the magazine would be "strongly supporting independent, expert dealers."

Eland and Velo Vision/Electric Bike will have a presence at the the Tour de Presteigne Electric Bike Rally on 8th May.
