Interview in BikeBiz's up-coming December edition hints at extra laid back cruiser

Electric Electra in the pipeline?

Electra engineer Mark Pippin has hinted to BikeBiz in an up-coming interview that Electra are considering electrics.

BikeBiz’s December issue, due to mail at the end of the month, will carry an interview with Pippin and creative director at Electra Robin Vllaire. In the article, BikeBiz discusses the recent diversification of the brand into mainstream bikes, revealed at Eurobike. Pippin then reveals the the brand has been keeping a close eye on the electric sector.

"I think you will see some new products in the electric category in future," said the engineer. "We have been watching this segment for a while now and we are waiting for the mad scientist stage to draw to a close. We may miss sales by not being a pioneer in this category, but we will also miss the pitfalls. Once the technology is truly mature, we can enter with a natural connection."

Among other things, the interview also discusses Vallaire’s take on bringing the fashion world to bicycles, design inspiration and the ever-growing line of mix and match accessories available to dealers.
