Endura has released a special edition ‘The Don’ Race Jersey.

The men’s and women’s race bibshorts were designed to raise funds for Ironman world record holder Tim Don, the British triathlete badly injured in a car accident on the Hawaiian island of Kona during a training ride just days before last year’s Ironman world championships.

Don, an Endura athlete since 2015, is in the process of staging a full recovery from a broken neck, but only after 13 weeks in a Halo device – an extended neck brace secured by retaining screws mounted in his skull.

To help reduce the financial burden of Don’s medical expenses, Endura has released a special edition ’TD’ cycling kit, comprised of Pro SL Custom jersey and bibshorts. All profits from sales of the ‘TD’ kit will go to Don. The blue design is enhanced with a geometric pattern in red, white and blue – a nod to Don’s appearances for Great Britain at three Olympic Games. Further details include Don’s Ironman world record time of 7:40:23, printed on the rear of the jersey and on the hem of the shorts, and his nickname – ‘The Don’ – printed on the chest.

Endura’s founder and managing director Jim McFarlane said: “It’s hard to say if we were more shocked by Tim’s Instagram video from a hospital bed in Kona last October, or the film posted six weeks later from a gym in Colorado, that showed him training on a static bike in his Halo device.”

“Tim’s determination to return to competition is one of the many qualities that set him apart, even from competitors in a sport as gruelling as long-distance triathlon. A broken neck would convince many professional athletes to call it a day, but for Tim, even severe injury is fuel to his competitive fire.”

“We’re delighted to be able to support Tim by donating all profits from sales of our special edition ’TD’ kit, designed and handmade by our custom division in Scotland. By using our flagship Pro SL Custom jersey and bibshorts, the same we supply to Movistar Team and Cervélo Bigla, we hope to celebrate the commitment Tim has shown to his sport.”
