ETRA to hold three e-bike seminars at Eurobike

The European Two Wheel Retailers Association (ETRA) has announced a series of electric bike seminars, which will draw on the experiences of those who have made a success of selling the power-assisted bikes.

On Wednesday 29 August, the Dutch (electric) bicycle dealer Jeroen Verbakel will explain why bicycle dealers should enter the electric bike business. He will answer questions on why many dealers should not be afraid of adding electric bikes to their range. He will also expand on the effects of the sales of electric bicycles on a bicycle shop. Participants in this seminar are welcomed with a free breakfast.

On Thursday 30 August, Jean-Pol Wiaux, General Secretary of Recharge, will clarify all aspects of the new WEEE Directive which are relevant to the electric bike sector. Electric bicycles have been explicitly included in the scope of this new Directive on Waste from Electrical and Electronic equipment. He will also clarify the relationship between the WEEE and the Battery Directive.

On Friday 30 august, Tim Schäfer, Head of Strategic Coordination & Safety Advisor Dangerous Goods & IPM at Li-Tec Battery GmbH will explain the rules for transporting Li-Ion. He will also clarify the obligations for electric bicyle manufacturers, importers and dealers when transporting Li-Ion batteries.

ETRA member and the press are granted access for free. LEVA-members who are not ETRA associated are charged €25 per seminar. All others will pay €50 per seminar.
