Retailer expecting sales floodgates to open

Evans excited by the potential of C2W revamp

Following today’s (October 28th) announcement of the Cycle to Work Guarantee, Evans Cycles is predicting a surge in sales through its own Ride2Work scheme.

“We’re contacted on a daily basis by public sector workers frustrated that they can’t take advantage of the scheme because their employer isn’t signed up.” Says Evans Cycles Ride2Work manager Maja Oakes. “We could not more firmly support Andrew Adonis’ push to encourage more employers, especially those in the public sector, to offer the cycle to work scheme and better cycling facilities to their staff.

“This year has delivered a tremendous growth in uptake of the green transport scheme, but it’s frustrating to see so few public employers implement these benefits for their staff. The opportunity that large employers have to rally with this incentive cannot be overstated: they should take pride in leading the way towards more responsible and environmentally friendly transport. Surely, there is no more immediate or significant way to reduce carbon emissions than by switching to cycles?

“We’ve been working on extending our Ride2Work offering further and will be announcing some additional services in the new year that assist our clients with finding new and cost effective ways to provide cycle facilities at their offices, maintaining their employees bikes and more”
