And cycle star Sarah Storey will be at this year's event, now in its fifth year

Bike Blenheim Palace grows Event Village

This August’s Bike Blenheim Palace event is set to have a significantly larger Event Village hosting a number of cycling brands, so far including Schwalbe, Campagnolo, Scott, Mavic, Enigma Titanium, Rotor, Adidas, Magura, Cinelli, Juice Lubes and many more.

The Animal Bike Tour will be one of the key attractions as well as a cycling café and the Kiddimoto Champs for the under 5s.

The event has been held annually in the grounds of Blenheim Palace since 2008 and this year’s event has been expanded to two days.

Sarah Storey will return with the GB Para Cycling Team to tackle the Time Trial as a warm up to the forthcoming Paralympics along with several other riders, including Shaun Mckeown and Mark Colbourne.

After the 2011 event Storey commented: "Bike Blenheim Palace is a superb day out for the whole family and there really is something for everyone at the event. I loved riding the Time Trial event and having closed roads and such a big field made for exciting competition. It’s the perfect place to start racing and for the seasoned racers a real privilege to have a traffic-free course."

The event is pitched as having something for everyone, from the competitive cycling fanatic to families looking for somewhere safe to ride their bikes in eyecatching surroundings. Events include a new 40km off-road Sportive through Blenheim Park and the surrounding byways, a Bike Polo Tournament, Cycle skills for children, the Brompton World Championship 2012 and a range of exhibitors from the cycle and cycle friendly industries in the aforementioned expanded Event Village.

Breast Cancer Care is the official charity for Bike Blenheim Palace in 2012.
