Brompton has announced the format for its ‘48 invitational race, taking place on Thursday, June 14 at the P&P World Cycling Revival.

The competition will comprise of 48 riders taking part in two elimination-style heats, the victorious 24 riders from those heats will then battle it out in the final for a prize of £10,048.

Joining the 48 riders will be former professional cyclist David Millar. Each rider will compete on Millar’s CHPT3 Brompton bike, designed in collaboration with Brompton. The bike features special edition colours, titanium componentry, ergon grips, special edition Kojak Schwalbe Tan-wall tyres and a Brooks saddle.

A limited number of places in this race will be left open for entrants from across the world. Anyone who’d like to be considered can go to www.brompton.co.uk/48invitational to apply.

The World Cycling Revival marks the 200 year anniversary of the bicycle, and is expected to be the largest hosted at Herne Hill since the 1948 Olympics.

The event comprises of sporting, lifestyle and music activities and will be held from June 14 to the 16 at the Herne Hill Velodrome. As part of an exhibition on the history of cycling at the World Cycling Revival, Brompton will have a display showing some of the first ever made Brompton’s as well as the all-new Brompton Electric.
