The Friedrichshafen show was attended by 36,800 trade visitors on the trade days and 18,000 enthusiasts on the public day

Eurobike sets (another) attendance record

Crowds swelled to this year’s Eurobike, the first major trade show of the season.

Industry CEOs and marketing directors were very pleased with the results from the show.

Reto Aeschbacher, Marketing Director, Scott said: "Eurobike is the leading trade show for the international bicycle industry. We could very clearly see this again this year. There were enormous crowds at our stand. I’m convinced that the entire bicycle market can look forward to an exceptionally good year."

Richard Thomas, European Marketing Director, Specialized said: "Eurobike was a lot of fun and the mood was extremely upbeat at our stand."

Josh Hon of Dahon said: "Following meetings with more than 60 of our customers from around the world, our 2009 business is off to a great start. Having so many cycling-minded people together in one place gave us a great opportunity to meet others who are as passionate about eco-mobility as we are. As more of the general population gets turned on to the benefits of cycling as a form of transportation, the influx of new ideas is fantastic.

Dirk Belling, European Marketing & Communications Manager for SRAM said: "For us Eurobike is the most important trade show worldwide and becomes more successful every year. This is the best platform for us to introduce new products. The number of visitors and the media coverage get bigger every year. The show has the potential to grow even further."

Next year the Demo Day – which was sunny for its second outing – will take place on 1st September. Eurobike will be open from Wednesday through Saturday, 2nd-5th September. Saturday will be the public day.

There will be a Eurobike news section in the forthcoming issue of BikeBiz magazine.

The next international show is Interbike in Las Vegas, starting on 22nd September. Many of the US brands which exhibited at Eurobike, and launched products, have kept back kit to launch in Nevada.
