EUROBIKE 2011: Day 1 Alfine 11, Fortitude 29er and more appearing at this week's global event

Genesis brings track bike and first 29er to Eurobike

Genesis is showcasing a number of 2012 bikes at Eurobike this year, including the Day 1 Alfine 11 (pictured), the Fortitude 29er, Madison Track and Classic Flyer.

The Day 1 Alfine 11 is an all new model for 2011, inspired by Vin Cox’s round the world record. Featuring a Reynolds 853 frameset and Virsa shifters which have allowed the brand to use an 11-speed Afine hub for all day efficiency, the Day 1 is pitched as a good looking versatile bike.

The Fortitude 29er is Genesis’ first foray into the growing 29-inch market. Its rigid-specific frame and fork are based around a 445mm axle to crown length, to keep the front end low. It also features a relaxed head angle of 69.5 degrees, helping keep the ride stable and single-track ready.

The Madison Track is a fully UCI compliant entry level track bike with an oversized 6061 aluminium frameset offering minimum flex.

The Classic Flyer is a geared version of the popular Flyer model. With downtube shifters to keep the clean and classic aesthetics of the original, the geared setup provides extra choice for those who require, uh, gears. Madison says the Shimano tube shifters are amazingly reliable and easy to repair, making the Classic Flyer perfect for a low-maintenance geared ride for the city.
