Conference to bring together Dutch and UK experts

Go Dutch conference to run alongside Cycle Show 2013

Not only will Cycle Show 2013 see plenty of new cycle products, brands and other cycle-related activities, but it will also host a Love Cycling, Go Dutch conference, running on the Thursday trade day, from 9.30am to 5pm.

The conference will focus on how Dutch politicians and planners have succeeded in building high cycling levels with public support and will tackle the question of how this can be mirrored in Birmingham and its surroundings (and presumably elsewhere in the UK).

A follow up to the series of ‘Love Cycling, Go Dutch’ conferences last year in Bristol, London, Edinburgh and Manchester, this conference will be chaired by Phillip Darnton in his capacity as president of Cyclenation and feature an address from Ian Austin MP as well as HE Ms Laetitia van den Assum, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Kingdom.

Cyclenation, working with the Dutch Embassy, has been a key player in the conferences.

Experts from Transport for London, CTC, Sustrans and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, among others, will speak at the conference.

The event is being hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Netherlands Business Support Office Manchester in collaboration with Birmingham City Council and Marketing Birmingham.

You can see the full agenda via the Cycle Show site.
