Don't want to wait for the end of the month to see the latest from Madison? Here's an early hint of what to expect at iceBike*

iceBike* 2014: Pearl Izumi, Elite, M Part and Gamut

iceBike* is back next month, showcasing new product and tech from the likes of Pearl Izumi, Elite, M Part and Gamut.

Taking place at the Madison Distribution Centre from the February 25th-27th (press day 27th), iceBike* will be housed in the specially constructed two-storey expo marquee and Madison’s in-house show rooms.

Pearl Izumi latest innovations in fabric technologies, garment construction and footwear engineering will be on showcased including a re-invention of the Boa reel with the P.R.O. Leader shoe (ten years after launching the first ever cycling shoe using the Boa retention system). The new 2014 apparel collection will be exhibited alongside the footwear range which includes the revolutionary X-Project footwear.

Elite’s new new Turbo Muin is aimed at powerful riders seeking demanding work-out. With a direct mounting system replacing the rear wheel entirely, all chances of slippage under hard acceleration are removed so there’s no need to hold back. Coupled with a 6KG flywheel and a bespoke fluid drive unit capable of up to 2,300 watts of smooth, progressive resistance, the unit is pitched as the ideal set-up for demanding athletes. The other no less important advantage of fluid is that it is whisper quiet, perfect for maintaining domestic bliss.

M Part is introducing an all-new red and black livery for 2014. For product branding the firm has designed a distinctive new “M” icon which is easily identifiable and, importantly, is neutral enough for use on many products, so it won’t offend when fitted to customer’s bikes. New products with updated packaging are just beginning to arrive in the warehouse, whilst existing lines will change on a rolling basis throughout 2014.

Fresh from mountain biking’s spiritual home of California, Gamut has announced a whole suite of new products that will be staring at this year’s show. Chief amongst these are two new super-lightweight, chain guides for the new breed of 1 x 10 and 1 x 11 enduro and XC bikes and alternating thick/thin chainrings for improved chain retention. Stripped down designs will be featured, offering Gamut’s World Champs-winning retention in an efficient, trail-friendly package.
