China trade show takes place alongside Asia Outdoor in July

Shimano, Specialized and Mavic sign up to debut Asia Bike

The uinaugural Asia Bike has attracted some heavy hitting exhibitors for its first edition in July 2011.

Shimano, Specialized, Look, Peral Izumi and Mavic are among the brands already signed up to the China-based trade show, taking place from July 27th to 30th.

Announced at Eurobike 2010, Asia Bike will run alongside Asia Outdoor, with trade visitors gaining access to both shows with one ticket. Event coordinator and chief marketer for both shows is Knut Jaeger, co-founder of OutDoor Friedrichshafen in 1994. Eurobike organiser Messe Freidrichshafen is a shareholder in the event.

Jaeger said: "China already has a number of different bicycle exhibitions for end consumers, but what is missing is a trade show with high-quality sports bicycles that specifically targets retailers and industry media.

"We are extremely delighted that international top names have already decided to take the plunge for the premiere in Nanjing – and we are confident that others will follow. Thanks to its outstanding infrastructure, the new exhibition grounds offer all participants ideal conditions."

The show will take place over 12,000 sq m of exhibition space, attracting 10,000 bicycle trade visitors and representatives from around the world, in addition to 17,000 Asia Outdoor guests.
