Pilgrim Cycling Co and Casa Expresso brew up a unique blend and accessories

‘Expedition blend’ coffee launched for cyclists

Cycling clothing company Pilgrim Cycling Co has teamed up with coffee specialist Casa Espresso to brew up a limited edition range of coffee, clothing and accessories.

The custom Expedition Blend has been produced to prepare cyclists for the ride ahead, the blurb says, and the coffee has already been well received by attendees at industry events like the London Coffee Festival & Spin London, where the collaboration was showcased for the first time, they say.

The Expedition Blend branding – using the tag line of ‘Getting the cogs turning’ – has also been applied to a range of accessories available via www.pilgrimcycling.com.

Pilgrim founder, Tom Probert, said: “I’ve always loved cycling and frequently found myself at the top of a mountain, in a café, enjoying a coffee and the view. It was during one such adventure when I realised that a Pilgrim range of coffee would be a great addition to our brand. Casa Espresso was the only company I really wanted to collaborate with and, fortunately, they were very enthusiastic about the prospect.”

Casa Espresso owner, Nino Di Rienzo, said: “Our collaboration with Pilgrim has been a great success. Our aim is to pass on the passion we feel for creating top quality blends, and Tom’s aim is to pass on the passion he feels for cycling and cycling apparel, so it seemed natural for us to work together.

“Because our coffee is hand roasted to order, we have full control of the roast which allows us to pull out and refine fantastic flavours to the customers’ taste or requirement.”

The exclusive Expedition Blend combines Brazilian Londrina and Rwandan Karengera beans, resulting in a refreshing, big-bodied flavour, ideal for enjoying before, during or after an excursion.

Yorkshire-based Casa Espresso recently invested in new roasting facilities to become the first coffee specialist to roast its own coffee in the Bradford area, fact fans.
