Central London Giant Store opening July 2014

Giant is still on the hunt for new brand stores in key locations and the latest of these has been announced this week – at West India Quay near Canary Wharf in the Docklands area of London, opening July 2014.

The store covers 550 square metres and features Giant’s full range, including Powerfit Giant’s professional bike fitting system as well as a dedicated Liv/giant store in store for women’s cycling needs.

According to BikeBiz’s calculations, this will be the 18th Giant Store in UK and Ireland. As with the rest of its store empire, this new opening is being made with an existing independent retailer.

Giant UK MD Ian Beasant said: "The Giant Store will be the hub of the cycling community – the store will open in time to celebrate the summer of cycling and that first celebration will be the Grand Départ as its passes through Canary Wharf…”

The Giant Store, opening in one of London’s major business districts and one of city’s main financial centres will be open in conjunction with an existing independent partner. West India Quay located in the West India Docks, once the busiest port in the world, will now boast a store from Taiwanese owned Giant the largest manufacturer of bicycles in the world.

Giant UK marketing manager Collette Clensy added: “We’re excited to be opening more Liv/giant store in stores we now have over ten dedicated Liv/giant areas in existing brand stores with further locations and partners planned for the future.”

Beasant added: "Giant Stores offer something for all whatever your discipline from leisure to performance, ultimately we want consumers to have great riding experiences and that first experience starts in the store.”
