Five minutes with: TRP Cycling - BikeBiz
This week we're talking to breaking specialist TRP Cycling

In our latest series, we’re getting to grips with the brands that you deal with every day. The ‘Five minutes with’ series presents a company with five short, sharp and to-the-point questions about who they are and what they do. This week we’re joined by TRP Cycling.

Can you tell us the history of the company?

TRP was founded on the idea of building the highest quality braking systems available in the bicycle industry. TRP Brakes are designed for superior levels of performance and durability achieved through the use of advanced production techniques, accurate processing and meticulous quality control. By using exotic materials such as Carbon Fiber, Titanium and TT6 Aluminum, TRP brakes set a new industry standard for lightweight and precise control. TRP brakes are extensively tested for reliability and safety on and off-road, and in the laboratory – by a company with more than 30 years experience designing and manufacturing bicycle brake systems.

What are you ultimately trying to achieve?

At the end of the day our goal is to deliver products that push the limits of quality and performance all while maintaining a reasonable price point.

What gives you an edge over other brands in the industry?

Our parent company Tektro has been producing brakes for over 30 years. This knowledge combined with our in house production allows us to be highly efficient and quick to respond to industry needs.

What innovations in the industry are exciting you at the moment?

At this time we are excited about our new mountain brakes. We have been working hard on these to create brakes that are reliable and consistent in every condition. Predictable brakes are one most important components when it comes to rider safety.

What does the future hold for the company?

At this time we can’t comment on the new projects but we will have some new exciting projects launching in the next year.
