It’s without doubt the Buff-selling season and dealers now have a few new items to consider for stock – including the Balaclava and Bandana Pro, as well as a new Chic line.
Introduced at ISPO 2014 in Munich and subsequently gonged with Gold awards, the Balaclava Pro and Balaclava Cross Tech are based around the Windstopper fabric, with the latter also utilising a Thermo Fastwick and soft polar fleece liner, which combines to offer maximum protection against the elements.
The new Chic line spans headbands, bandanas and the original Buff, with each carrying a rhinestone encrusted logo.

Faster by Michael Hutchinson

Centering on the adrenaline-fuelled instinct to push ourselves to faster speeds and ultimately gather results to celebrate, Michael Hutchinson’s Faster hits stores next month.
The £12.99 paperback draws on the former professional cyclist, turned-author and Cycling Weekly columnist’s experiences, as well as a wealth of expert opinion ranging from nutritionist experts to the right psychology, ultimately leading to discussion of the marginal gains theory made famous by David Brailsford.
The book also analyses the many things that can make us slower and discusses how to avoid letting each detract from performance.

Silverfish: 01752 843882

Stock of Supacaz products has landed with Silverfish who have begun shipping to dealers.
Supacaz may be new to the UK but having already graced the front-end of the Astana team bikes at this year’s Giro d’Italia the products are already well-regarded by the pros.
Though famed for ‘standout’ products, Supacaz don’t just offer Rasta bar tape and glow in the dark grips, you can also benefit from all the label’s technology, styling, design and comfort in black if the customer so chooses.

Catlike VD2.0 Aero helmet
I-ride: 01444 243000

Now available is the Catlike Mixino VD2.0 Aero helmet as worn by TdF KoM Nairo Quintana and World Road Champion Rui Costa.
The VD2.0 version of the Mixino utilises the same light weight graphene re-inforced aramid roll cage to offer a very low profile and size to the helmet while surpassing all required safety tests. Obviously the VD2.0 differs in its outer shell with very few vents and a CFD enhanced outer shell to provide those extra watts for races when ventilation is not the most important factor. The VD2.0 was seen in action at the TdF on the hilly TT around lake Annecy and will also be used by Team Movistar during the chilly spring classics where the closed helmet reduces drag and helps keep the rider warm. The Mixino VD2.0 is now in stock and available at i-ride.co.uk and retails at £199.99.

Barfly GoPro mount

2pure: 0844 811 2001

To go with the 20 million-plus GoPros sold into the action sports market in the UK annually, 2pure has high hopes for Barfly’s camera mount.
Fitting to the handlebar, the design allows for fitting on the top or under side of the bar, meaning cyclists can be both discreet with their camera placement for catching on the road incidents, as well as offering some protection for the riders regularly leaving the ground.
BarFly’s Garmin mounts are currently among the best selling in the USA and 2pure hopes to build on that momentum in the UK.

Pedego TrailTracker E-fatbike
Direct: 0203 239 4722

Just the second of its kind that we’ve personally seen at BikeBiz, Pedego’s electric fatbike has now been launched in Europe.
The Pedego Trail Tracker can climb steep mountain trails with the assistance of a rugged 600W silent motor and a 48V battery, as well as both pedelec and throttle options for power delivery.
The Trail Tracker was originally designed as a show-stopping concept bike for display at the Interbike show in Las Vegas in 2012. Such was the positive reaction that Pedego started manufacturing for commercial sale and has not been able to keep them in stock since, hence the European expansion.
