Andy Wigmore's new company bags a big bike line.

Felt moves from Extra to Saddleback

Wigmore, former sales director of Dawes, founded Saddleback in the summer. It’s the distributor for Thule, Serfas, Ronhill and Battaglin.

”We have been in discussions with Felt for some considerable time but up to now the timing hasn’t been right for both parties," said Wigmore.

"The details are now all sorted and we are delighted to take over the distribution rights for such a major international brand that has such potential in the UK market.”

Felt was founded in 1991 by Jim Felt a former motocross engineer for Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda who turned to developing tube sets for Easton before establishing a name for himself as a maker of tri frames.

In the late 1990s, Felt was joined by Bill Duehring, former chief operating officer of GT, and Michael Müllmann, former president of German cycle distributor Sport Import.

"Extra UK, has done a tremendous job in establishing the brandÂ’s BMX line and getting it accepted by dealers and riders alike. It is our job now to market their other key categories road, MTB and cruiser," said Wigmore.

Availability will be end of Q1 next year.
