Ridgeback Electron and Electron+ uses the Shimano STEPS system

First Ridgeback e-bike comes into stock for UK dealers

Ridgeback‘s Electron and Electron+ are now in stock and available via distributor Sportline.

Ridgeback is the first British brand to utilise the Shimano STEPS system and brings supreme reliability and joint support from Madison and Sportline, the brand said.

"More and more people are turning to e-bikes as their personal transport solution and both the Electron and Electron+ provide a natural pedal feeling and effortless performance with a large capacity lithium-ion battery pack and an intelligent power management system. A Dutch-style step through frame makes it easy to get on and off the bike and hub gears keeps maintenance to a minimum."

Dominic Langan, Madison & Sportline CEO, added: “The e-bike opportunity should be fantastic for specialist retailers and we have all the resources to help you get trained for this category. STEPS will become the standard and Ridgeback is the first British brand pioneering the system. From now on you are going to see more and more STEPS equipped bikes of all shapes and sizes.”

STEPS has a four hour charge time (two hours for an 80% charge) and three power settings, 60km range in high, 85km in normal and 125km in Eco. It’ll take over 1,000 charge cycles without significant power loss and is reportedly one of the lightest e-Bike systems on the market.

SRPs for the two bikes are:

Ridgeback Electron – £1,999.99

Ridgeback Electron+ – £2,199.99 (below)
