A statement from Fisher Outdoor Leisure said:
"After several very successful and enjoyable years working with Dahon, Fisher Outdoor Leisure and Dahon have mutually agreed to cease their distribution partnership for the Dahon brand in the UK as of 31st December 2009.
This decision has been based purely on our strategic direction. We’d like to thank Dahon for the tremendous opportunities we have all enjoyed over the last 5 years, and wish them the very best of luck for the future.
Fisher Outdoor Leisure will continue to service the folding bike market and our existing customers in 2010. We recognise the potential growth remaining in this category and we will continue to identify and nurture this consumer base.
Moving forwards it is our intention to address the folding bike market in several new ways that encompass all enthusiasts including the ‘new cyclist’.
We are extremely excited by the developments we will be able to propose to the folding bike category, news of which will be coming very soon."
