Darron Coppin of Sven Cycles has colloborated with food writer Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to make the "Forager", a £3900 custom-built bicycle with British-made Loop wheels, and a huge selection of pots, pans and knives.
Fearnley-Whittingstall, famous for his River Cottage TV series and restaurant, worked on the bicycle with Coppin and River Cottage’s executive group chef Gill Meller.
Inspired by the Series 1 Land Rover the robust and not-at-all lightweight Forager will be perfect for riding into the woods to collect and carry wild food.
It will be officially unveiled at the River Cottage’s May Food Fair and will also be at Bespoked, the handmade bicycle show, in April.
"I’m incredibly pleased with the Forager," said Fearnley-Whittingstall. "It’s a joy to ride."
The bike’s frame is made from Reynolds tubing and has a Brooks saddle. The pannier and in-frame bags are bespoke and made by Restrap.
Is this the first bicycle to come with its own fire-pit, mushroom knife and recycled wooden chopping board?
