This year's event was the last, media company reveals

Future confirms the end of BikeRadar Live

Media group Future has confirmed trade rumours that BikeRadar Live will not run to a third year.

The firm said that despite excellent support for the event, held this year at Brands Hatch, it has decided to look at a series of smaller scale cycling events – following strong demand for that type of event from the trade and consumers.

Details of those events will be unveiled at a later date.

BikeRadar Live event director Chris Down said: "We had fantastic feedback from both the industry and cycling fans following the event this summer, so we know that some people will be disappointed by this decision. It’s been a really tough call, as we enjoyed the festivals just as much as everyone else.

"However, staging an event of this kind and on this scale takes a great deal of time, resource and commitment and in the current climate we have to be very careful about making sure it is right for our business. We’d like to thank all of those who have supported BikeRadar Live over the last two years.

"The events we are looking at introducing during the next twelve months will bring all of the excitement and quality that our previous events have delivered."
