Fyxation’s wire bead Session 700 tyres will be available in the UK from the start of next year.
The US manufacturer specialises in urban cycling products and its new wire bead Session 700 will be available in black, white and dual compound white in 700x23c, 700x28c and – for the first time – in 700x35c. The wire bead Session 700 will retail at £33 in the UK.
The Session 700 is a durable colour tyre with an aggressive bead to bead tread pattern and Kevlar belt to help protect against rolling flats. Launched in summer 2009, the tyre has been developed using rider feedback.

A perfect example is our dual compound tyres. The DC Sessions offer a hard black center strip to offer riders a longer lasting and more durable colour tyre.
"The wire bead tyres come from similar feedback. As much as people loved our tyre design and how the Sessions ride, they’ve been looking for us to come out with a more affordable tyre. Making them a wire bead vs. foldable allowed us to lower the cost substantially and to finally bring to market a rugged yet affordable urban riding tyre."
The firm said that the wire bead option was developed for riders who weren’t as concerned with having a foldable tyre and were looking for a durable colour tyre at an affordable price point.
