Coffrin has started Electric Wheels International (EWI), offering retailers in the US and Europe what he says will be a "convenient, single-source for high quality, environmentally responsible electric bicycles, scooters, and accessories."
EWI is the exclusive distributor for the complete range of battery-powered bicycles and scooters from Electric Transportation Co., and also DC Flyer electric scooters.
“I started EWI to offer dealers a single source for quality brands that complement one another. Our philosophy is to build exclusive relationships to distribute quality brands that are, or have, the potential to be number one in their category,” said Coffrin.
“We are fanatical about customer service. We have the internal framework to dependably supply products that retailers demand. EWI is focused on helping dealers grow their sales and profits through innovative sales programmes and after-sale service.”
Prior to powering up EWI, Coffrin ran the Coffrin Group, a consultancy business which served bicycle and electrical vehicle manufacturers worldwide. He had previously been operations manager at Specialized Bicycles and part of the sales management team at WSI/Diamond Back.
“I decided it was time to create a business in an industry with strong growth potential," said Coffrin.
"Recent advancements in battery and motor technology have made quality products more affordable.”
EWI’s sales and marketing manager Matt Serafini said:
"We are global distributors of Electric Transportation Co. products so we intend to set up distributors in the UK. We are also adding new product lines which will be sold into the UK market. We expect to announce soon our appointment as the exclusive distributor for a range of electric products from a well-known bicycle manufacturer."
