'eXtreme Tryout' roadshow available for bookings nationwide

Get Cycling and Diamondback take mountain biking to the city

York based Get Cycling has teamed up with Diamondback to ‘take mountain biking to the city’ in the form of a transportable North Shore style course.

Representatives from both Get Cycling and Diamondback are now traveling with the self contained show, which utilises the experience of seasoned downhill and 4X riders who coach kids through the difficult sections.

Duncan McCann Get Cycling’s general manager, and one of the riders providing the training, said about the new venture: "It’s great to get out into the community with a youth inclusion project that will be visually and physically fantastic for the kids. With companies like Diamondback and Royal Racing providing not only support, but giving the eXtreme try out some kudos, it’s set up to be a great year."

Having already hit Chester and York, Get Cycling is now taking bookings from towns up and down the country. The course is ideal for festivals, carnivals and cycling events.

Bethan Vaughan, Cycle Chester programme manager, said: “The Cycle Sunday event was a fantastic day. Get Cycling did a brilliant job getting the youngsters involved in the eXtreme Try out course and I’m sure that this mountain bike taster session will have sparked the long-term interest of many of those who attempted the course.”
