Gocycle is significantly ramping up its retail profile following deals to be sold into a wider network of John Lewis and Evans Cycles stores.
The Karbon Kinetics brand moved into a limited number of Evans Cycles stores at the end of last year, but following a new agreement and increased demand is now set to appear in 22 stores from the chain – 60 per cent of the Evans Cycles retail footprint.
The specialist chain’s chief bike buyer Joel Natale said: “Gocycle has quickly created its own niche and after impressive initial sales, we’re delighted to be rolling it out to two-thirds of our stores.”
Having previously been available solely through its online retail portal, John Lewis is now set to bring Gocycle into its physical offering – including the flagship Oxford Street store.
Ben Rogers, John Lewis buyer, enthused: “Gocycle is recognised as a piece of cutting edge British innovation. We are delighted to be able to introduce this award-winning product to our customers both online at Johnlewis.com and in our flagship store in Oxford Street.”
Gocycle’s MSRP is £1,495 at Evans and John Lewis.
The brand is also available via the new-to-the-UK retail chain Best Buy.
Gocycle sales director Barney Craggs said: “It’s an exciting time in the electric bicycle market right now and we are thrilled to be partnering with leading retailers as Gocycle enters its next growth phase.
“Gocycle is a fantastic performance commuting alternative, and extending availability to millions more consumers nationwide is a key objective for our business. We see this as a significant step forwards.”
