The Green Party's election campaign was launched today. As would be expected, the enviro-friendly party is not availing itself of helicoptors, light aircraft or battle buses... The campaign was launched from three poster-pulling promo recumbents.

Greens opt for battle bikes

The party’s election candidates promoted their "People, Planet, Peace" election themes.

Keith Taylor, the Green Party’s ‘principal speaker’s and a likely candidate for becoming the UK’s first ever Green MP said:

"We are fighting this election on an unashamed platform of social, economic and environmental justice, that places Peace, Public services and the planet’s resources at the heart of our policies, and provides a choice for real change from the business as usual politics of pollute and privatise."

He said the party would be using bikes and public transport, unlike the other main political parties.
