New site build formatted for mobile phone use

Halfords.com launches mobile device browsing

Halfords.com is set to launch a mobile phone platform for its customers looking to browse via their handsets.

Based around the current site, though formatted for mobile phone screens, the web store will be browseable in near the same form as if the customer were at a computer screen.

Customers will be able to view product information, product reviews, use the comparison function and use the reserve and collect function.

Halfords believes that one in five of its internet customers now browse the website through a handheld device. Online revenues for the store rose 70 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2010. Visitor numbers now top one million per week.
