Retailer pledges support to 2009 event with in-store and online promotions

Halfords gets behind Bike Week

This year’s Bike Week, running from Saturday June 13th to Sunday June 21st, is getting the full backing of retail chain Halfords.

The giant firm has vowed to make the most of Bike Week through online and in-store material to raise awareness.

A Halfords spokesperson told BikeBiz: “Halfords has pledged its support to Bike Week in a bid to get more of the nation on their bikes.

“Cycling is fun and a great way to keep fit but it is important to have complete peace of mind about the safety and upkeep of your bike, which is why Halfords is offering a half price one year Bike Care Plan with all bikes purchased in store and online for just £7.49 (adult) and £4.99 (children), only during Bike Week. The care plan offers a free 25 point annual service, normally £29.99, and free labour on all maintenance and repairs throughout the year.”

The news follows Bike Week’s partnerships with several firms, including Pedalite and Boxit. Pedalite will award a set of its environmentally-friendly battery-free lighting products to one lucky Bike Week winner. Boxit, meanwhile, will be offering a discount for online orders in connection with Bike Week.
