Handlebar mounted bracket provides lockable stash point for those cafe stops

Helmetor goes live on Kickstarter tomorrow

A new patent pending lockable helmet bracket, dubbed the Helmator, is to go live on Kickstarter tomorrow.

Available as both a handlebar mounted unit to fit 31.8, 25.4 and 22.2mm handlebars and a wall mounted product, the Helmator is a simplistic design that clasps all styles of helmet through the air vents.

Northern Irish brothers and regular cyclists Tim and Jonnie McCrea are behind the idea, which even at this stage, has been nominated for The Fréd Awards’ (Northern Ireland based), alongside See.Sense and Jyrobike for ‘Cycle Innovation of the Year’.

The lower arm acts like a leaf spring and will easily slip in and out of any air vent, whether it is 3cm or 8cm long. A loop allows for a small padlock or cable lock to securely fasten your lid to your bike for those extended pub stops.

Could the Helmator be a contender for the London Bike Show’s BikeBiz-backed Innovation Lab? Read all about that here.
