Brand looking to grow retail network with latest bike lock offering that cyclists can wear

Hiplok seeks dealers for its wearable D lock

Innovative lock brand Hiplok is on the look out to grow its dealer network with its new Hiplok D and Pop models.

Boasting a UK retail network that numbers over 200 shops, the firm has hailed the response to those two latest products, which were first announced at Eurobike last year and have been in UK stores since Q1 2014.

Hiplok D, touted as the world’s first wearable D-lock, uses a clip system integrated into the body of the Sold Secure rated D-lock so it can easily be attached to belts and bag straps as well as fit in pockets. Consisting of a hardened steel shackle combined with a slim profile body it comes in a range of colours.

Hiplok Pop, meanwhile, is a lightweight, versatile cable lock that uses Hiplok’s patent pending ‘pop’ system, so it easily adjusts to and fits around the riders waist. Hiplok Pop Available in six colours from neon to classic. Hiplok D retails £59.99 and Hiplok Pop at £19.99.

Hiplok told BikeBiz: "Both locks went in to stores in the UK Q1 2014 and we’ve been really pleased with the response so far – both have received good media reviews, great reaction from customers at recent shows and first reports from retailers indicate strong sell-through alongside the original Hiplok and Lite.

"We are looking to expand our network of independent bike stores. We believe our 2014 range has really opened Hiplok up to a wider audience. There are lots of cities around the UK whose cyclists are potential Hiplok customers but where we have yet to gain significant retail coverage. With our new sales representatives on board we are hoping to address this and would love to hear from any potential stockists."

Hiplok revealed a new point of sale programme with a series of materials to help display the brand consistently in store and assist in communicating the all important USPs to the customer. There are different options available from standalone display units to back wall boards and Hiplok said it is happy to work with stores on custom solutions to fit their specific in-store set up.

The lock brand told BikeBiz that the UK makes up over 30% of its sales and internationally it has distribution partners in 20 countries. Hiplok is returning to Eurobike this year, but the firm remained tight lipped about any potential product launches at the Friedrichshafen show.

Hiplok supplies directly to stores across the UK and has been building a network of sales representatives to help us in servicing retailers across the country. For more info on becoming a stockist and trade pricing email sales@hiplok.com or phone Hiplok on 01926 298 747.
