Hunt has announced the release of its new dynamo wheelsets.
The new design is the product of nearly two years of research and development. The company aimed to develop a light-weight durable and fast wheelset with the ability to constantly charge lights; the Hunt SuperDura Dynamo wheelset is the result.
Combining the efficient SONdelux Dynamo with the brand’s extra sealed and shielded 4Season Disc rear hub, wide tubeless asymmetric Gravel Disc rims and a durable 32 spoke count of Pillar’s triple-butted PSR spokes finish off the package.
Hunt collaborated with SON dynamos, which are recommended for their market-leading efficiency. When a light is drawing power, the efficiency of a SON hub is 65 per cent; with the light off it draws 0.4 watts of power more than a normal high quality sealed bearing hub.
SON dynamos feature its unique Pressure Compensation System, which consists of an airflow port on the axle cap and inside the axle and an air reservoir tube. Including this system extends bearing life to 50,000 – 100,000kms.
