This weekend's Dragon Sportive to see money raised for 'Ride for Michael Bonney' campaign

i-ride for Michael Bonney at the Dragon

Staff from distributor i-ride are taking on the Dragon Ride Sportive this weeked to raise funds for Orange Bike’s Michael Bonney.

In March this year, Bonney suffered life changing injuries when he fell during a sportive. Following the incident he was diagnosed with a severed spinal cord at the C3 vertebrae, leaving Bonney now tetraplegic – paralysed from the neck down, requiring a ventilator to breath.

Orange Bikes has now launched the ‘Ride for Michael Bonney‘ campaign to support his care costs.

At the Dragon Ride sportive, i-ride will be fund raising at the 3T display in the event village in Margam County Park. They’ll be raising awareness and money by wearing and selling ‘Ride for Michael Bonney’ t-shirts, selling and riding with Orange bottles and running a raffle with some 3T bike bling. There’ll also be collection buckets and banner highlighting Bonney’s situation. All profits from these efforts will go towards Michael Bonney’s Care Trust Fund.

i-ride will also have ‘Ride for Michael Bonney’ t-shirts available for sale on www.i-ride.co.uk as soon as they are available, with all proceeds again going to the Michael Bonney Trust.

“We worked with Michael on several OEM projects and were always impressed by how enthusiastic and helpful he was whenever we worked with him," said i-ride MD Paul Butler. "After his accident Michael’s resilience and positive attitude has moved us all. We just want to do what we can to help support Michael and Linzi.”
