Austin – chair of the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group – to open the NEC event's trade day

Ian Austin MP, Jo Rowsell and the Athertons lined up for Cycle Show

The Right Honourable Ian Austin MP will be opening the Cycle Show at the NEC at 9.30am on the Trade Day, September 26th 2013. 

Austin, MP for Dudley North and chairman of the APPCG (All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group), will be interviewed by event stage compere Joe Fisher before officially opening the show.

Multiple Olympic Gold Medallist Joanna Rowsell will open the show to the public at 9.30am on Saturday September 28 with a Q & A session on the stage with Ned Boulting.

Later that day Rachel, fresh from her recent DH World Champs victory, and Dan Atherton will be found on the seminar stage. Rachel will take part in a Q&A and autograph session following a tyre seminar from Continental on the brand’s 2014 range and all the different wheel sizes on the market.

MTB legend Tracey Moseley and Trek Bicycles will host a women’s specific Q & A at 12.00 on Sunday 29th, answering questions on subjects from ride positions, to female specific kit and race preparation.

World Transplant Champions Ottilie Quince and Rich Smith from the record breaking GB Transplant Team will be on the stage on Friday 27th to talk about the trials, tribulations and rewards of cycling and the challenges they overcome on a daily basis.

The afternoon of Cycle Show’s final day (Sunday) will see Nigel Mansell and his Pro Tour winning team, UK Youth, answer questions about the UK pro Peloton, racing, advocacy and supporting a charitable cause through the race circuit. Team leader Yanto Barker will be present to answer questions about his time and experience on the race scene.

Saturday 28th will also see a seminar with some of the UK’s leading cycling writers in a Q&A entitled "Meet the Authors", featuring Ned Boulting, Lionel Birnie, Sean Yates, Ellis Bacon and Sean Kelly.
