Andy Wilkinson is a glutton for punishment: hes broken the End-to-End record for a solo road bike, a recumbent and now a mixed sex tandem.
Lynne Taylor, 31, the daugher of John Taylor, owner of Bridgetown Cycles in Cannock, is a long-distance time triallist, specialising in 12 hour events. She also helps to manage the shop.
The Road Records Association sanctioned record breaking attempt took place at the weekend. Taylor and Wilkinson took 2 days, 3 hours, 19 minutes and 23 seconds, beating the previous record by more than five hours.
The tandem was a Cannondale loaned by the Liverpool Cycle Centre.
