Interbike’s desert demo days are legendary, but they’re also boiling hot. This year there will be extra efforts to cool down riders with complimentary ice cream, water stations, and a 40 foot by 40 foot shaded, misting Oasis. And watch out for the Action Wipes crew, led by company founder Martha Van Inwegen.
She and her helpers will be on hand to cool and refresh riders with the sports wet wipes.
Action Wipes are individually-packaged, astringent wipes created for "when you can’t shower", said Van Inwegen.
Bike commuters use the wipes as pre-work clean ups; athletes use them for post-race wipe downs. If stored in ice, they can be both cleansing and refreshing at the same time.
“Since their launch in 2008, Action Wipes have been gaining popularity with cyclists, outdoor enthusiasts, travellers and adventure athletes. Many commuters, leisure and pro riders are now ditching their old ways of cleaning with baby wipes after a ride and turning to Action Wipes as their alternative shower solution. They really like the natural ingredients, larger size and effectiveness in removing sweat,” said Van Inwegen.
Many cyclists wash the 9”x10” wipes (they’re quite tough) and use them as small bike-cleaning rags.
Action Wipes – which are made in America – will be located throughout OutDoor Demo, including in ice chests.
An earlier start on the second day will add an hour of riding during the cooler morning hours to the Demo’s busiest day. New hours will be from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday, September 12th and 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13th.
Action Wipes will also be distributed throughout the Sands Expo Center for the indoor portion of the show.
The OutDoor Demo will be staged September 12-13th in Boulder City, Nevada, followed by the Interbike Expo, September 14-16th at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.
