Cyclescheme-devised gift vouchers to 'drive new business for IBDs'

iGo cycle vouchers launched in time for Christmas

As revealed on the BikeBiz Forum at the end of last month, Cyclescheme has introduced iGo gift vouchers for the cycle market.

The vouchers are available exclusively to IBDs, and there is no paperwork contract, Cyclescheme tells BikeBiz.

The vouchers, which have been introduced in time for the Christmas retail period, can be purchased online and then used at participating independent cycle retailers across the nation.

Vouchers are available from £20 to £500, with the option to personalise a message to the recipient which is then printed onto the voucher.

"We have an extensive and loyal base of partner retailers who are recognising the potential of the iGo voucher to drive significant new business for them," enthused Cyclescheme head of Commercial Operations Daniel Gillborn. "With Christmas fast approaching, those wanting to contribute to a new bike for friends and family, now have the perfect way of doing just that."

All participating cycle retailers will display iGo window stickers and are listed on igogiftvouchers.co.uk. The site’s browser also links directly to the cycle shops’ own websites.

Cyclescheme has provided more detail on the voucher scheme:

"Consumers will have the opportunity to spend between £20 and £500, with research showing that people will on average spend 40 per cent more than their gift voucher. Vouchers are not just available to Cyclescheme consumers, but will be open to all members of the public being promoted to all Cyclescheme employers, employees and the 2000 blue chip clients of Grass Roots covering 20 per cent of the working population of the United Kingdom.

We launched the concept at the Cycle Show and have had a very positive reaction from the trade and consumers. We will market iGo within and outside of the cycling marketplace making full use of the consumers and employers we work with.

How much does it cost?
There is no joining or annual fee. As with Cyclescheme, we take a ten per cent commission of the voucher value, with you, the store, keeping 100 per cent of any additional spend.

I already have my own gift vouchers, why take iGo Gift Vouchers as well?
iGo Gift Vouchers are not designed to replace your existing in-store gift vouchers, instead enabling friends and family who may not live locally to your store the opportunity to purchase a gift voucher for one of your customers, or a new customer.

What can customers buy with the iGo Gift Voucher?
Anything that you sell in your store – there are no restrictions.

Will there by any point of sale material?
Yes, we will be distributing in-store leaflets, posters and window stickers in the near future to support our partner store network.

Why sign up now?
From this week iGo Gift Vouchers will shortly be in circulation. Now is the perfect time to sign up. With the public already thinking about Christmas let’s ensure they spend their money on cycle related products – in your shop.”
