Cycle clothing company Impsport has been acquired by Reynolds Sports

Impsport changes hands

Impsport produces custom-made cycle clothing, event signage and numbers and printing and embroidery for leisurewear.

In 2007 the business had a turnover of £1.1m, with 75 percent generated through team clothing for cycling, triathlon and running. Turnover in 2008 is up by 8 percent. The business employs 32 staff based at its manufacturing and operations premises in Lincoln.

Managing Director Dan Ellmore said:

“Reynolds Sports has identified Impsport as a strong brand that complements the capabilities of their existing companies. We are already considered to be one of the market leading suppliers of custom-made clothing in cycling and triathlon, but will continue to grow by moving into other sports and become a specialist own-label sportswear retail brand of our own."

Impsport will be moving to premises already owned by Reynolds Sports, five miles from their existing location. All 32 staff will be retained and manufacturing will continue as normal.

Dan Ellmore will remain part of the business to manage the transition of the takeover.

Reynolds Sports specialises in the supply of sports equipment and teamwear.

Tim Pearce of Reynolds Sports said:

“Impsport is a great addition for Reynolds Sports. The acquisition allows us to keep the manufacture of high quality sports product in the UK using experienced quality staff employed within a dynamic and growing multi facetted business”.
