Hours: 37.5 hours to incorporate weekends as required

An Event Coordinator is a professional in the cycling industry who plans and coordinates benchmark Canyon events. We are looking for someone to be involved from the early creative concept to the end delivery and reporting of the event. We are also looking for a candidate with competent mechanical skills and experience to help maintain the UK marketing and demo fleet.

Job brief

We are looking for an experienced event coordinator to organise inspiring events. You will be responsible for every aspect of an event in line with both the global and local Canyon objective brand pillars and sales targets. 

The Event Coordinator must be well-organised and competent in managing both suppliers and event organisers/media. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. This combined with enthusiasm and passion for all disciplines of cycling and the events they entail is essential to carrying out the job successfully.

The goal is to organise unforgettable, industry leading, events that will ensure the entertainment and satisfaction of attendees whilst meeting KPI’s, whether that’s brand awareness and increased share, demo targets or sales.

This role will report into the UK Head of Sales and Marketing. The expectation from Canyon is the event coordinator will work every event with days in lieu during the week.

Responsibilities

  • Understand requirements for each event
  • Pitch creative concepts and ideas to fit the brief that has been set
  • Plan event with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Book venues and schedule speakers (ambassadors, influencers, Canyon representatives)
  • Research suppliers (catering, infrastructure, security etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the most favourable terms
  • Organise ambassador attendance and manage their logistics and expectations
  • Manage all event operations (venue preparation, liability, and risk assessment)
  • Do final checks at the day of the event (demo bike prep, demo signage, technology, branding, staff and ambassador attendance.) to ensure everything meets standards
  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
  • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports including presentations (including to global Marketing and Brand Experience teams)

In addition – we are looking for someone to organise the UK demo fleet and support with UK marketing bikes:

  • Marketing bike tracking and logistics
  • Demo fleet maintenance 
  • Managing the fleet to ensure the correct demo bikes are present at events to suit the wider product-based brand and sales objectives
  • Ensure the appropriate number of bikes are in the market based on UK management and global objectives
