Interbike survey reveals Soviet-levels of acceptance

Half of the retailer respondents attended the OutDoor Demo in 2004, the two-day hands-on testing event held prior to the show. OutDoor Demo was relocated to Boulder City, Nevada two years ago and 89 percent of the 2004 attendees give Bootleg Canyon the thumbs-up.

Other survey findings include:

Over three quarters (79%) of exhibitors unveiled a new product or service to the industry for the first time at the 2004 Interbike Expo.

Over three quarters of exhibitor respondents (80%) opened one or more new accounts at the 2004 show, while 87% of retailers found a new supplier.

Over two thirds (68%) of retailer attendees prefer to hold future Interbike Expos at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.

The majority of exhibitors (74%) and retailers (86%) indicated that the 3-day format of the show was “just right”.

"The survey results indicate that Interbike continues to be the industryÂ’s show," said show director, Lance Camisasca.

"Interbike has proven to be a great venue for connecting buyers with suppliers, building business relationships and has become the most important event of the year for the bicycle industry. In striving to produce the best possible event for the industry, the survey provides us with some very valuable feedback
