The Aberdeen store has a proven reputation for exceptional service quality and advice.\r\n\r\nGeneral Job Description\r\nTo support the Aberdeen Branch Manager in the successful running of the branch.\r\n\r\nTo help ensure that the department is completely focused on the highest quality of customer service and making sales. The post is offered on a permanent full-time basis (37.5hrs\/week).\r\n\r\nResponsibilities\r\nThe Aberdeen Deputy Manager\u2019s base will be at our shop in George Street, however occasional travel around the Edinburgh Bicycle group, and elsewhere, may be necessary for training and meeting purposes. The role of the Deputy Branch Manager for Aberdeen is central to the smooth running of the store and the key responsibilities will be to:\r\n\r\n \tSupport the Branch Manager in all tasks and deputise in their absence.\r\n \tEnsure the highest levels of customer service.\r\n \tManage individual and groups of staff.\r\n \tAssist in carrying out necessary disciplinary procedures.\r\n \tEnsure continued staff presence on the sales floors.\r\n \tAssist with staff training.\r\n \tAssist with display & merchandising.\r\n \tDeal with customer problems and complaints when they arise.\r\n \tOperate specific and regular administrative systems.\r\n \tHave the drive and motivation to identify, act on and deliver sales opportunities.\r\n\r\nPerson Specification\r\nIt is essential that you are able to demonstrate strong leadership, organisational and motivational skills, as well as a highly developed sense of customer service. Ideally, you will also have experience in retail sales and management, however, training will be given to the right candidate.\r\n\r\nIt is also essential that you are an effective time-manager and a pragmatic problem solver. You must also be able to place great emphasis on service quality, and productivity, as well as paying good attention to detail.\r\n\r\nTerms and conditions\r\nThe Aberdeen Deputy Branch Manager is expected to work a 37.5-hour week for a salary starting at \u00a317,500 per annum.\r\n\r\nThe shop is open 7 days a week, with weekends being particularly important trading days. It is expected that the Deputy Branch Manager will work a considerable number of weekend days.\r\n\r\nThe post carries a paid holiday entitlement of 240 hours (32 working days) per year. There is no entitlement to payment for any public holidays as these are included in the above allocation.\r\n\r\nA staff discount scheme entitles employees to purchase many products at a discount.
