They will consider problems as a challenge, collect relevant information and be disciplined in ascertaining the root cause; they will then be able to develop practical solution, communicate the findings and implement action to resole the problem.\u00a0\r\n\r\nThe successful candidate will be able to listen and digest information, imparting it to others and at the same time build upon stable relationships. They will be seeking direction from others when and if appropriate and be capable of developing trust in people, training and supporting them in in a non-assertive and efficient manner in order for them to meet their objectives.\u00a0\r\n\r\nThe ideal person will be dependable, loyal, adaptable by nature but still able to ensure conformity with rules and systems. They will be consistent in approach, analytical, sensitive, precise and should enjoy working in a logical and systematic manner. As standard operating procedures within the technical areas of expertise are important aspect of the role, the successful candidate will be organised, structured and should have the persistence to see a job through conclusion.\u00a0\r\n\r\nMain Responsibilities\r\n\r\n \t Work across various teams to support the assembly and maintenance of prototype designs.\u00a0\r\n \t Run the test bike fleet program and perform maintenance on the bikes as necessary, keeping excellent records for insight into product performance and reliability.\u00a0\r\n \t Administer the department workshop environment - maintain workshop stock levels and order replacements when needed.\u00a0\r\n \t Police safe workshop practice and maintain staff training records.\u00a0\r\n \t Provide support to the factory test facility with day-to-day tending of tests. \r\n\r\nAdditional duties:\r\n\r\n \tTo attend supervision, training and meetings as and when required.\r\n\r\nSkills and Requirements\r\n\r\n \t High level of knowledge and proven experience as a bicycle mechanic, ideally with Brompton bicycles.\u00a0\r\n \t Cytech Level 2 is preferred.\u00a0\r\n \t Wheel building experience essential.\u00a0\r\n \t Be familiar with workshop tools and the safe operation of portable and fixed workshop power tools including bandsaw, pillar drill etc.\u00a0\r\n \t An awareness of Health and Safety law and best practice.\u00a0\r\n \t Self-starter who can work unsupervised to high standards and meticulous detail.\u00a0\r\n \t Be a team player who will contribute to the continuous improvement goals of the department as well as the company.\u00a0\r\n \t Be IT literate, including MS Word and Excel.\u00a0\r\n \t Excellent written & verbal communication skills.\u00a0\r\n \t Punctuality and reliability are essential. \r\n\r\nJob Profile\u00a0\r\n\r\nBrompton utilises Personal Profile Analysis and Psychometric Assessments during the recruitment process to identify the behaviour requirements and working styles of our job functions.
