Life Cycle UK is recruiting for the position of Project Mechanic for its successful Derby City operations and funded by Derby City Council.
We are looking for an excellent bicycle mechanic, with experience of working on a wide range of bikes, particularly older bikes. You will have good management skills and be able to work well with others, teach and share skills with a wide range of people from other mechanics to volunteers and the general public. You will also regularly liaise with and visit all prisons we work with and meet the prisoners who work for us there. You will able to organise and maintain a well-equipped workshop and have a very good understanding of health and safety issues. You will be able to cope with a busy working environment and getting jobs done on time to a high standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for recycling bikes to a high standard, selling and servicing bikes to the public and looking for new business opportunities for the project. You will also be highly motivated, innovative and passionate about Life Cycle’s long-term vision for the project and will have a positive can-do proactive attitude to life and work.
