Here at Bespoke Biking (a not for profit) we believe passionately in the ability of cycling to change lives and our environment for the better.
If you feel the same way, you might want to join us in a leadership role on our journey to encourage more people to take up cycling in Winchester, whether its local residents or the many tourists who visit here.
Since September 2017, we have more than doubled our business in this lovely city - we are the only cycle hire provider in Winchester - and we urgently need to grow our small and dedicated team who service, repair and refurbish all kinds of bikes.
You need to be
● Experienced and knowledgeable around cycling, the bike industry, bike repair and servicing
● Good at talking to all kinds of people
● Organised and able to lead a small team
● Qualified to Cytech 2 or 3 or with equivalent experience
● Good working knowledge of Bicycle parts, stockists and ordering systems
● Keen to grow and develop as we do, and keen to help others progress and learn within the Hub
● Have a genuine interest in cycling and its benefits to society

Who we are
The Bespoke Biking Bike Hub offers a broad range of bikes for hire, bike repairs, servicing and the refurbishment of donated bikes. We are all about promoting cycling as a great means of getting around, for leisure, family activity and fitness. With our strong social aims Bespoke Biking strives to encourage people of all ages and ability to cycle as a normal, everyday means of transport.
Manage all the day to day operations of The Bike Hub.Manage the small team of staff and volunteers and any trainees.Assist with business development and provide reports on progress.Provide outstanding customer service.
Duties & responsibilities
Manage all day-to-day operations at The Hub
Support front of house bike sales and bike hires
Ensure all customer enquiries are dealt with either by phone or email
Ensure shop is kept clean, tidy and well-stocked
Help to check and prepare hire bikes
Help to service customer bikes
Manage accounts and process payments
Sales & marketing
Regularly update social media and website content Work with the director to produce promotional material, including brochures and flyers
Build and maintain relationships with sales partners such as schools, community groups and corporates
Improve existing shop systems and develop new ones to cater for the growing businessSelect and maintain up-to-date stock and accessories to keep in line with trendsHave awareness of future bike trends by attending trade shows and meeting with suppliersAssist the director with strategic planning and development for the shopAssist the recruitment of new front of house and mechanic staff, volunteers and trainees
We are looking for someone to be an integral member of a small team. As bike project manager, you will share our ethos to promote cycling in Winchester and this will drive your daily management of the Bike Hub. You will be dynamic, highly organised and an excellent communicator, with the ability to plan work for the project and the team. You will be happy to juggle a varied range of tasks from running demo learning sessions to managing the shop floor. Candidates need to be flexible and have a can-do, positive attitude.
Qualifications, experience & skills
● Good range of GCSEs● CYTEch 2 or equivalent
● 3 years working in bike mechanics and/or retail● Working effectively in a small team, ideally in a leadership role
● An understanding of the bike industry, its training and its suppliers● Excellent personal organisation skills● Ability to use initiative and work under pressure
